Hi All, I'm looking to buy XC90 and would like to understand how the standard suspension is doing or should I go for air suspension?

Are there any problems with Standard suspension?

Looks like there are lot of problems reported in Volvo USA forums..and wondering..how 2016 Volvo XC90 is doing in Australia?

I'm coming from Audi land..hopefully it would be a pleasant experience.
Most people on here can't afford a brand new car, but the suspension tune we get is different to the u.s one in general for our cars. what is the complaint with the standard suspension? If you're only owning it for 3 years, go the air suspension.
hey..thx for the quick reply..I'm reading through various forms, some say standard suspension is very brittle and ride can be choppy especially in rear seats ( basically not all that comfortable ), where as other forums for example NRMA say standard suspension is better and air suspension is causing more body roll at corners..

So, I'm look at a couple of options, whether to go with the standard suspension or look at getting more expensive air-suspension..not sure the extra comfort air-suspension gives worth the price tag. Thats basically my dilemma.

If standard suspension is ok in city conditions..i'm ok with it as we hardly go off-roading ( hence the XC90 consideration..otherwise it would have been Discovery 4/5)..
Test drive and see? Wish I could even contemplate to afford a 80k car
I've been following the new car quite closely, and have the following observations:
-The initial ride wasn't great in either; the air sprung was too soft, the transverse leaf too harsh; they have changed the suspension settings a little bit after the first ones (*as with any car wait 12months to get one... allows the glitches to be someone else's problems!)
-There have been software updates on a few bits and pieces (I want to say some of the control software for the dash)

Autocar in the UK have tested one, and have run one to 18,000miles andautocar.co.uk/car-news/our-cars/volvo-xc90-long-term-test-review-being-mindful-mileage are now onto their second as a long term test car.
