Vinyl wrap C30 front spoiler

I seem to overestimate the height of the front spoiler on my C30 and now have a couple of sections where the white paint is back to plastic.

Instead of going to a panel beater to touch up I had a thought that a vinyl wrap on the lower part of the front spoiler might be a good idea. I could use a darker colour so that if I scrape again is does not look as bad. If it gets a bit tattered I can pull it off and re do it.

Is this a good idea or should I just fork out $$$ for the panel beater.

PS. I know that not scraping is the best option, but I don't seem to be able to master this option yet.

Vinyl will look worse once you scrape it imho.
I wrapped my v70t5 bonnet as the clear coat was patchy.
The lower bumper was bad and bumper clear peeling so I got the sander onto the lower , smoother the clear peeled and brushed on some Hammertone paint , near match in colour....
It saves a big expense , the bar is in need of a lot of work off the car so why not.
Nobody notices it.
Some put on eBay rubber lips but that makes it lower....

Slightly off topic, but I think the clear coat on my s60 has lost a layer in a couple of spots on the bonnet as well. Was kind of surprised when I found it. Might have spread from a stone Chip or something?

Probably. This car has lots of chips that have gone to metal and the clear peeled from the spots but also just sun and environmental damage I think. Lots of Turtle wax is my panel shop guys advice.
$50 of quality German vinyl and some patience is all the bonnet took..
