Hi all,
Trying to chase down the 'official' service schedule for a 2011 S60 D5 AWD (B5244T10, 151kW/205PS). Specifically I'm up for the 5 year/90,000km service.
I've always serviced my own cars and I've been tossing up whether to pay a stealership (an hours drive away) to do this car but given the sort of prices they charge I've decided against it. The software updates aren't enough to sell me unless someone knows that there is actual changes to make it worthwhile, and I have an inherent distrust of dealerships, especially the ones that do a whole range of brands. I've got a Guangzhou special VIDA unit on order so I can check for codes and find out if I actually need to take it in, plus there is a few settings I want to change (DRL behaviour for one).
There is an argument that full dealership service history adds resale, but I plan on keeping it for at least 5 years and if you assume each trip to the dealers costs you $500 in labour it's hard to see how the resale difference would cover it. I plan on keeping receipts for everything and documenting what is done. If you have a differing opinion I'd love to hear it.
I've found a few <a href="

The unofficial recommends outer Aux belt at 5 years, official says 10 years. I'm guessing the unofficial has the shorter period due to all the stuff with the recall on the aux belt tensioner (it would fail and take the timing belt with it, usually requiring a completely new engine).
My plan, barring further information, is to do oil, filter, and coolant (as well as all the usual inspections). Brake fluid was done last year and is bi-annual. I may or may not do the outer auxiliary belt plus tensioner based on price.
