  • What flywheels and clutch will work with B230f and M47 gearbox?

My clutch (which has been happy for years) is starting to slip as the engine mods are adding up. Can anyone help me narrow down the best value flywheel/clutch combo for a M47 that doesn't need the crank angle sensor holes? Not running LH2.4.

The car is a 1988 240 - If I'm installing a new clutch I wouldn't mind installing a lighter flywheel if there is the option. I did read that the flat flywheel should fit an M47.

For a bit of fun, here's a video of it slipping after tuning for E85 fuel tonight.

Thanks.
240mm falcon pp on a flat flywheel, with a toyota correct spline disc. I re drill the flywheels to suit and source the clutch parts also. They hold up to more power than you have.
Sounds Good! The Falcon pressure plate looks easy enough to source, but can you elaborate on toyota correct spline disc?

Anyone got a flat flywheel they want to sell?

If using an M47, you'll need a clutch disc to fit that spline. So a Volvo 22 spline centre with a 9.5" (I think) diameter friction surface.

It may need to be custom made, unless some of the FWD Volvo's kept the same spline as the M47, with larger diameters.

If converting to a Toyota gearbox down the track, there is a Hiace/Hilux disc with the correct spline for the W series boxes, and the correct diameter for the Falcon pressure plate.

I may be able to spare a flat flywheel, will have to check.

74 onward 164? They have quite a large clutch
Clutch also fits land rover diesel
    164 has a 10 spline clutch, M47 has a 22 spline.
. might find some info here
The m46 was used on the b28 also. With a much larger disc and pp. Similar to.the falcon one.

Also the info Anthony used is what I based the falcon clutch jobs I've done. and the disc is listed there. I have a jig for drilling the flywheel and pressure plate.
