Hi guys, just wondering if anyone can tell me the correct cylinder numbering sequence on the 2.8 V6 engine - the new 260 runs terribly and I think he may have the leads all messed up - just want to check they are on right
Google has found firing order is 163524
I am wondering if the layout of the cylinders starts with the left bank (from front of car) and goes
(FR) 1, 2 3, (RR) left bank
(RR) 4,5,6 (FR) right bank ending back at the front again or
(FR) 4,5,6) (RR) where is at the rear of the right bank?
google seems to have a number of different varieties and I do not have a workshop manual yet!

I don't have the answer for you, but Peugeot did most of the design work on those engines, and most Peugeot engines of that era had #1 at the back of the engine, rather than following the convention of having #1 at the front.
I can't remember if I still have any 260 workshop manuals in my collection, but if I do they are surplus to my needs, send me a PM if you're looking for one, and I'll see what I've got.

Found a plug lead dead - Then while I was messing around in the dark, spotted the coil short circuiting through the Bakelite cap! new coil should fix it hopefully and get it running better!
