I ended up finding the installer who installed the system!

I have to take off the trim which is carpeted alongside the console passenger side, and the gps box should be behind there.

Any videos on this so I can try it out without hurting my new child?

I opened it! It's a Media King with a 4GB Kingston SDCard.

It was somehow attached to an air vent so I hope it popped off the top.

OK .. I have bought a new map pack (IGO Primo) through eBay so I'll install it and see how we go, and then close it up!

I think I may go the TomTom option that Mike suggested earlier as I get seeing my car in pain :)

I ended up running the IGO Primo software on the MediaKing Unit, but there is one kink that I'm trying to work out - removing the Bluetooth and battery button/icon from the display and then I'm all set to patch everything up again.

If I wanted to upgrade this thing to something newer, is there a recommended aftermarket unit that would be recommended with better reverse/sat nav system so it's still within the dash?

I've decided to get the Alpine iLX-700e for my xc90 and let my iPhone and carplay do the work for maps and music.

It's a very nice simple system. Reverse cam capable. Aux input for other stuff (DTV for example).

I'll be getting this clean double din fascia kit and all the relevent iso harness and aerial adapters. It will allow the stereo controls on the steering wheel to work also.
