jamesinc All of a sudden, non-start, after running just fine yesterday. I really hope it's not a contaminant in the fuel or something. There's like 60L in the tank.
jamesinc All the rain. How do you test fuel pressure? Like when I press in the schrader valve, fuel comes out, but is it supposed to be a torrent of fuel or just a bit?
CamZH You can get a proper gauge. But I was thinking just make sure there is some pressure there. Fuel pump relay could be an issue if it's not repressurising after you let it out via the valve. Other things would be the cam shaft sensor and coil/rotor/cap/plugs.
nickm Try ether in the intake and if it runs for a second...Fuel problem. jamesinc;28503 wroteAll the rain. How do you test fuel pressure? Like when I press in the schrader valve, fuel comes out, but is it supposed to be a torrent of fuel or just a bit?
Ex850R Unplug the air mass sensor and try. It does limp mode which you can actually drive normally with , carefully , no hooning , get new unit if it runs then. A genuine one is recommended but I ran a Chinese $40? one for a while , seemed good.
jamesinc It was flooded. It took 20 sec of cranking with the fuel pump disconnected to get it to start firing, them it took another 30 sec to get to a normal idle.
jamesinc I did take a peek in the bore of the 850 while I was testing for spark, man that thing needs some seafoam pretty badly!
egads (she/her) Subaru upper engine cleaner is the easiest seafoam type thing to get here in my experience.
jamesinc So I rotated the tyres front and back, and failed to notice the rears were wider than the fronts. Whoops! Scrub-a-dub-dub, my guards got a rub. BUT I did notice on the highway, the mid-range vibration appeared to have left the steering wheel. So my assumption that it was caused by the axle may be faulty - I'm taking it in for a balance one day this week as I'd like it to be resolved before I go to Parkes.
AshDVS Look, since you're going to all the effort of taking the wheels off, you really should put some big brakes on the front. ;)
jamesinc Check out that ridiculous toe-in! In terms of balance, the front left wheel was off by 15g and front right by 35g!
