I've got different brand Rotors. The S40 has skimmed genuine and DBA. The 850 Ate and DBA . My 740 had DBA.
All solids.
I found pads are the cause of most problems.

Interesting on the proven to develop warp thing, any references? Particulary with the hub type rotors on a 240.

I also have no idea how or What conditions you drive in Nick, how often you do hard stops or mountain driving where you want to stop fast.

Id say that because Bosch bought pbr a few years ago, it would be old vs new stock?

Just that if I've done nuts up with a brace then beaten on the brakes it more often than not has resulted in warped rotors. Torqued to spec & no dramas. I've had early 240 hubs warp mind you, not sure why, assumed from overtightening?

I doubt that is the case, I've had warped discs on trucks and buses from hard use and then possibly a change in weather, talking 40mm thick rotors.

Still wondering about the s80 305 rotors vs the 302 ones.. Need to get a hold of some.

It might be worth considering matching pads with rotors. Running competition pads like EBC reds on standard rotors might be asking too much from a standard rotor regardless if it has been dimpled or slotted.

It's a pretty happy combination in my case but I'm always up for improvements. What would you suggest?

Wheel tension. The hub nut holds it all in place.

Both my cars are Autos and I find them harder on pads, compared to a manual.
I'm not as aggressive as I was, but can give it a good workout.
Bulli pass near Wollongong is always a good test. Cheap or poor pads will always fade at the end.

Best pads on the 740 were IIRC the metallic benix ones..but they eat rotors. Not so much warp but wear them.

On that I remember the 760 had a weird issue where the front rotors appeared warped but when you took the front wheels off then put them back on again without doing anything else it was gone. Was the "fix" whenever it presented itself again...

Mine dont go away at this point, hubs are good, wheels in balance, only happens from braking and it rocks the steering. Just going to better brand rotors, hopefully 305mm ones with bigger calipers.

Yes. I regularly have the car on the hoist. Moving on. I've been bitten twice by rda slotted rotors on two cars, not again.
