Hi all,
I have a 1989 Volvo 740 Turbo and my brake booster has recently started hissing, so I'm looking for a replacement. Was just wondering if anyone can let me know if both the Slim and Fat brake booster are interchangeable? My car currently has the Fat booster but I was hoping to replace with the Slim one if possible? Just wanting to create a tiny bit more space on the exhaust side to make downpipe a little easier to fit once I mount the turbo up high.
A wrecker I spoke to said if i use the slim booster I will also need a spacer...does this just mean the front face of both boosters ends up in the same place? i.e. no extra space on exhaust side?
Cheers in advance!

The slim booster means you can't run a clutch. unsure how it would interfere with the turbo clearance as most manifolds go further forwards and up. Get a used na booster and a new check valve, should be good for a long time.
Post a thread up of your car!

Ok cheers, that would be a problem. lol
I'll have to post a thread sometime, been a slow start, was never actually intending on going down the performance route but those plans recently changed. Thanks for your help
