Jackson Nice one, Julian. I've been thinking about getting an Ostrich and I'd like to see the process for 'flashing' with one. It would save A LOT of time. Just on your injectors. It's really important to calibrate for them, or the car will never run properly. There's an iterative process for determining the proper constant and dead-time values for your injectors. The fuel trims your ECU works out can adjust for an incorrect injector constant, but not for incorrect dead-times. Your trims will never be stable. It's not just that it will run rich at idle, but you can lean out under load.
nickm I was wondering if the different models had some hardware difference. That changed there functions jamesinc;75644 wrote@nickm more or less. The bin is, for all intents and purposes, the car's OS.
Ghettobird They are ultimately the same cars, no real need to change things up too much bar a couple of sensors and trim
clinton nickm;75692 wroteI was wondering if the different models had some hardware difference. That changed there functions I think there are minor differences in hardware between the turbos and non-turbos, apart from that it is all software I believe.
jamesinc I wouldn't be surprised if Bosch redesigned various modules on the ECU to suit feedback or changing component prices, but the overall architecture probably didn't change. This is all educated guesswork though.
Volvotech I understand turbotuner do ecu & software link via usb for motronic 4.3 & 4.4 for around $800 exchange, anyone bought & used them ?
Ghettobird Lots of people have them, hardly worth 1200 AUD by the time you get one over here for something you can set up yourself with greater functionality for under $300 That and the added bonus of not being locked into their software either - which you need a personalised key for - an absolute joke if you ask me
Jamest5r_ Yeah I used a tt for a few year's, very simple to use. Cj who now owns it he was the us distributer who Adam sold out to is a fair bloke who will give you access to the software if you buy a 2nd hand one
Ghettobird Going VERY well! Ive just been totally swamped with uni work, I have been running an S70 T5 ECU With an Ostrich for the past 3 months with no issues at all I will be doing a BIG update in about 8 weeks
