Picked up the car from the exhaust shop today and was told it had an oil leak from the turbo return. Only a couple of drops when cold but a steady stream when warm.
Initial thoughts were blocked pcv since there shouldn't be much if any oil pressure at that point. Checked with a plastic bag on the oil cap and there is positive pressure there, confirming the pcv issue.
Swapped breather box with the one from the old engine (which had no troubles when it was removed) and there is slightly less pressure but still enough to blow the bag up. Breather box is currently venting through a filter to atmosphere so there shouldn't be issues downstream of the breather, therefore I'm a little stuck as to what is causing this. Anyone had a similar issue and know a good solution? I'll be replacing the breather box as soon as I can find a new one in any case

Its normal to have the oil return on the turbo leak. Nothing to do with pcv, all to do with the sqaure o ring fitted not sealing.

Best to cut the factory oil return pipe abput half way. tap the oil return hole in block with a thread get a aero flow fitting to suit with a 5/8 fitting and put it on to the oil return pipe problem solved! Ps make sure you get proper oil friendly hose!

Callums method is one, but to tap straight on car isn't easy, personally, I only do it engine out. The stock tube can be made to seal, given that every stock turbo volvo has that style, as do many other makes and models of turbo cars and trucks.

Interesting, I was taking it that since there was still positive pressure at the oil cap I was chasing a pcv problem.
I'll get a new o-ring and see if that fixes the problem

Get the area thoroughly clean (carby cleaner), fit the square silicon seal to drain pipe ensure it goes into the block adequately, then neatly apply blue silastic around pipe end and some of block.
Then it will not leak at this point for years.
