Rolvo Looking to see if you guys have recomendation or feedback on mainly front struts or suspension set ups. My car is a 97 wagon, it has has the front replaced at some stage - with Monroe "REFLEX" (rears unknown as of yet) . Ride is pretty average if you ask me. I had a chat to tex pete on facebook and he runs koni adjustables (on softest setting) and ipd sway bar. I'm not after a track car, just a car that drives well and responds when required. Cheers Bruce
Philia_Bear Also Xc90 spring seats and new top beatings ans new sway bar end links and new a arm bushings
AshDVS As above. I'd opt for Koni adjustables or Bilstein B6, though sometimes we suggest the Koni adjustables in the front and the bilstein B6 in the rear. H&R springs are quite well paired with these too. I'd ditch the Monroe's, certainly in the front of an 850 as they're not a good fit for the 850R spring rate and ride will feel a bit crashy. Is the car a sedan or wagon? Does it have nivomat rear end?
jamesinc I've owned two 850R wagons, and both have had Koni adjustables, so I actually don't know how they compare to stock, but I will say that they're pretty good.
Rolvo Thanks for all the advice - general consensus is koni adjustables are the go. @ashDVS the car is a wagon, not sure if they are Nivomat as I do not know what they look like - I looked under the back last week looking for markings - only found the Monroe on the fronts. And you are right - the front crashes - and now I think of it it is pretty hard/brutal but I;ve only had it 2 mths and no idea how they compare to stock either.

If the rear shocks look like normal shocks then they are normal shocks if the rear shocks look about 2x bigger in diameter than you would expect they are the nivomats
nickm I have Bilstein touring on the R springs and all is good. The spring seat on the Koni is lower so watch using it with the stock R spring if you want to keep the inner guards.

nickm xrqtr https://ozvolvo.org/discussion/comment/73832#Comment_73832How much lower?Enough to cause scrubbing. Even a stock R is marginal. IIRC Jame's R wagon was pretty messed up in there.Without them side by side I would not want to guess.
Ex850R Not much but noticeable beside another and by peeps who know what they are looking at.Rear Delta link bushes need done too in fact, everything rubber as it's an old car now.
