firstcar Hi all, I have dodgy headlights in my 245gl, and I've been told l can simply swap any 240 series heaelight grille assembly straight over, so I'm trying to source a 240 series front, complete and suitable. Any help with this would be much appreciated. Kind regards Pete
Angus242164 That's not 100% true, what year is your car? If it's a 1980 or earlier with the aluminium bumpers, there are a few headlight options that interchange without much work. If it's '81 or later, the headlights are all the same, aside from a change to the trim on the headlights in '86.
Angus242164 In that case it's pretty easy to go for the different '75-'80 model options. In Australia that means: '75-'77 round headlights with wide grille. '78 as above, updated grille and light surrounds. '79 DL square lights/wide grille like in my sale thread. '79-'80GL what you presumably have now. '79-'80 244GLE, like the '79 DL but with foglights in the grille. There are also two types of lights that work with the narrow grille from the US models, quad rectangular lights and quad rounds. The rectangular ones were used on some 260's and 242GT's here, the rounds were never used here.
serk I've still got the square headlight setup off a 242GT: https://ozvolvo.org/discussion/3845/ Make me in offer if you'r interested
firstcar Hi serk, Photos look good, where abouts on the Sunshine Coast are you? Would this arrangement simply bolt into my existing 245? If it does, I'd like to have a look, if that's ok. Kind regards Pete
