So I've been focusing on my Corollas for the last two weeks because money's dried up and I'm just fitting all the parts I've collected.

Volvo got an engine bay wiring cleanup which has been going well except there's a few wires that look aftermarket that I can't identify. I'll post up pictures if I can't get to the bottom of it.

Hey did you end up getting the 245 tail lights you were after? Just wondering what you will do with the ones on the car? I need the drivers side (RH) one esp if you don't need it any more.

I haven't sourced any new tail lights yet, I've been focusing my effort on my motorcycle the last few weekends.

Tail lights will probably be the last thing I do cause they're so damn expensive for what they are.

No worries! Yes for a bit of plastic, even the aftermarket ones are not cheap!

About a month ago I was knocked off my bike by a ute, bike got written off so I've decided to finish a project before I buy a new bike!

I picked up this new sedan last weekend because it has my favourite exterior and it was shockingly cheap.

After a bit of investigating I found a complete hand written history from new, a free vacuum cleaner and a bunch of other nostalgia.

The downside is she's got a old leaky motor and an auto, whereas my wagon has a B23 kjet and an m46.

The green sedan is staying with me, the gold wagon will have to go one way or the other.

Should I gut the gold wagon and transplant everything worthy into the green sedan or should I sell the gold wagon complete and source a drivetrain for the green sedan?

That one's such a survivor I'd keep it original and fix it personally

Original's not an option unfortunately, I find it hard to enjoy a slow automatic.

I'll probably fix the minor problems for RW, but longer term it won't stay all original.

Anyone know if we got m47 boxes with speedo drive in Aus? If so are they commonly found?

How can I tell if my m46 is course or fine spline without pulling the box?

Someone bought a digital to analogue converter and never used it for a similar purpose. I can see if he wants to sell it.

Up to 77 is coarse spline, the m45 is the coarse spline model usually.

Thanks, my m46 should be fine spline then so the clutch and everything up that end can stay.

If an m47 with a speedo drive exists it'd save me a lot of time and effort. Otherwise I'll probably just swap to a digital speedo cluster and diff, probably easier than putting together a hybrid solution (assuming I can find the parts for reasonable money.)

I don't believe an m47 with a speedo drive exists from factory. With the exception of there being no speedo drive, the m47 rear housing looks pretty much the same as an m45 rear housing that has a speedo drive. I've always been curious if its possible to put an m47 rear housing on the back of an m47 to get a speedo drive.

I've read that M47s with a speedo drive exist but it sounds like I certainly won't be able to find one if they do. Sounds like a diff and cluster swap is on the cards.

The M46 overdrive is cool but after the time I've spent trying to get it working I'm ready to put it in the bin.

Who is familiar with both 360s and 240s with M47?

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the 360 have a gearbox called the M47R?

And didn't it have a speedo drive?

Or is it just the numbers are similar and the M47 and M47R are totally different animals?

Having just seen the parts books and remembering the numbers, but not really being familiar with either in the actual ~~flesh~~ metal, might mean this could be a load of old bollocks.
