These pads and rotors were new back in 2014. I thought about switching to vented, but decided to keep the original setup. FWIW they've performed well. I don't race the car beyond the odd bit of "spirited driving", so I've never noticed anything in the way of fade or poor performance.
Not for ease of replacement? Or when it's turbo?

Check this out, found a hi-res aerial photo of Amy a couple days after I first rolled her out of the garage. That's my old 850R there too.

Amy had been idling high and staying high recently, found the issue was the inlet hose from the manifold to the auxiliary air valve (the S-shaped hose) was collapsing under vac. I don't exactly understand how, but the hose has some surface cracking in it (which is disappointing, it's only two years old).

Also the water pump has a leak. I've got a spare on the shelf, just need to find the time to swap them out.

Hepu pumps are da bomb. Got 3 for my projects.
So that hose that is collapsing on itself, that's a Mackay hose, installed when I built the motor, so only ~10,000km on it. Pretty disappointing. I'm going to shell out for a Volvo OE hose this time.

For hoses, Mackay are typically very good - might just be an oddity.
They're certainly not in the realm of URO, Scantech or Pro Parts Sweden as far as rubber products to avoid are concerned.
Sweet car...really enjoyed the build thread. One day I'll be starting on mine!

Man, I love the 245 1980 in that colour!

Close..my wagon is a 79. Round black mirrors are the clue there! Colour is bright yellow CLR725...Nissan Datsun Safety Yellow.
A new dash speaker for the 244 arrived today. I kept the original speaker and brackets when I stripped the car down back in 2014 but never mounted it - only mounting a pair of 6x9s on the parcel shelf.

They sound great (they're the Jaycar Kevlar ones), I'm very happy with the overall EQ, but having the sound coming only from the rear is annoying, as you have to turn it up quite loud on the highway, and if you have passengers in the back they hear it very loudly.

So I finally settled on a 4x8 to go in the dash centre speaker position, a RetroSound R-48N, which has a really nice feature in that its a dual coil speakers, meaning it takes both a left and a right channel, and saves me having to create a passive crossover. Because I don't have anything else on the front speaker channels, I don't need to do anything fancy, I can just use the fader to adjust the relative volumes.

The original dash speaker was more like a 4x6 but had plenty of space around it in the bracket, so this one will hopefully fit without too much hassle. We will see.

@jamesinc any chance of some pics of the rear speaker mounts?
This is my new speaker next to the dealer fitted one

It's a perfect fit for the opening in the dash, but I'll need to make a mount to fit it under the dash.
@Tassie6er I don't have any pics sorry. There's not a whole lot to it, I used a Dremel to enlarge the speaker cut-outs in the parcel shelf and did the same for the upholstery/moulding that goes over it.
This dash speaker fits perfectly.

Sound good?
What's the HU?

I can't read...

It's a Kenwood KDC-U5049DAB
The centre dash speaker does sound good. Quite a powerful speaker for its size, I was surprised. Had to fiddle with the EQ a bit to get the midrange under control, but ultimately it sounds good.
