Reflow (or resolder if you have tried reflow before) the ABS ECU. Great rainy day job, just need a grunty iron and some quality solder.

So why y'all not thinking it's the sensor? I mean if the ECU was faulty I'd expect a much longer fault list.

Dry joint on that solenoid. It looks like that type of error.
And the fact it was intermittent. The wheel sender is just a hall sensor so unless there is wiring damage my first guess it the notorious ABS unit.
The circuit board is coated with silicone.
So if you reflow make sure you remove it of it will contaminate the new joint. Use leaded solder.

Fair enough. I'll have to order an E5 Torx socket it seems. I think, I've managed to procrastinate about buying a Torx socket set since forever, I should just buy one.

I was getting wheel sensor errors, resoldered all of the big joints and haven't had an issue since.

I'm waiting on parts to fix the ABS issue.

In other news I ordered new engine mounts and torque mount, I want to get rid of the last last vibration, which is just under load at high speed.

I ordered from GCP today, replacement interior trims for the rear face of the centre console, as well as the ashtray that goes in it. On Minty the ash tray is missing entirely and the face plate has shattered and been JB Welded back together with aluminium reinforcements, but they stop it from mounting properly and I have a really intense hatred of broken interior trim.

Nice.

The centre console trim in the R looks pretty ratty. It's wood-grain, but in the 90s it had a phone holder drilled through it, and it's cracking and delaminating all over the shop. The dash woodgrain is in much better shape.

I'm thinking of deleting the woodgrain from the tunnel area by swapping in a non-R tunnel and giving it just a plain gunmetal finish (few shades darker than the grey plastic trim of the car, but not quite black).

Thoughts?

A good quality vinyl could do the job or, as I tried on a v70r stack trim, hammered finish industrial paint!
If I get an 855 again, I want blond trim...
Black seats though..

So the other day the car suddenly got very loud. It drives and idles fine by my god is there a racket. I initially thought I must have blown a hole in the exhaust, but after some hard pulls I feel like it might be something else. It seems a little down on power, and boost seems a bit low, so I'm wondering if it isn't a blown exhaust gasket, or a slipped timing belt tooth, or maybe even a cracked manifold?
