This pic show the locations of the little Philips screws which attach the dash plating to the dash.
(Yeah, I know - it's a flipped image. I'll get a better one when I do Chloe's dash).
Guess it may be easier to break this process down to a number of stages....
Stage 1: Remove centre console surround
[0] Disconnect car battery, empty glovebox, and empty ashtray (if necessary).
[1] Unscrew:
* 2 x Philips screws, below radio compartment
* 2 x small Philips screws, L & R, near join of centre console face to upper dash.
* 2 x plastic clips, L & R, directly below Philips screws just removed in previous step
[2] Move gear lever aft and move centre console surround aft, to allow access to switch wiring and lighting.
[3] Disconnect cigar lighter wire (1 x yellow). Unplug Hazard warning light switch; rear demist switch; other switches as required.
[4] Remove bulb holder from lighting bar over the accessory switches. Remove bulb holder from "Fasten Seat Belt" warning light.
[5] Remove the dimmer knob and unscrew the dimmer pot.
[6] The centre console face should now be free. Remove L & R footwell HVAC covers by lifting upwards to disconnect the clip at the rear holding them in place.
Stage 2: Remove lower crash padding and plastic trim
[1] Gently prise the plastic trim surrounding the passenger's side air vent and the two inner air vents and clock away from the steel dash plating. You need to be very careful and gentle otherwise the little plastic pins holding these 40+ year old pieces of plastic will snap.
(work in progress, to be continued)
