Didn't get a heap done this weekend, but I did pickup a replacement rear bumper, fit the LHF door trim and mount the fire extinguisher.
KAP Industries make a simple, neat fire extinguisher mount for various makes and models, and they're Australian made - its always a good thing to support other small businesses too.

Other than that I'm really just waiting for front rotors too arrive.
I'll get back to brake upgrades for a bit later on, once I've got the Focus through a RWC. I can then test fit a couple of different ideas and put some kms on them.

I haven't looked at the Focus during the last few weeks - the Focus has been less of a focus!
I've just had a bit too much customer-work on, which obviously needs to take precedence.

I do have my brake hardware sitting in a nice little pile though, though I have changed my mind about rear pads and just ordered another set.

The short term solution up front will be -
HEL Braided lines
DBA T3 4000 series slotted rotors
Project Mu NS400 pads

and, in the rear -
HEL Braided lines
Brembo slotted rotors
Project Mu NS400 pads (I have Brembo pads already, but have ordered Project Mu instead).

I've got a bit on this coming weekend but hopefully I'll get them all on the car on sunday afternoon.

Hmmm, that bracket looks good and your base mount pics look similar to the Fiesta. I wonder... Looking good dude, agree on the wheel colour, very schmick.

Our Project Mu order arrived today, and in it were some rear pads that I'll use instead of the Brembo ones.
Too much on now this weekend to set aside some time to do all the brakes, but will get onto it next weekend instead.

The Euro pads and T2 rotors are pretty much too aggressive on the BMW... its seriously actually hard to drive gently in traffic now because of the dam bite and grip...

We use the NS400 pad a lot for a heap of different applications. I just want to do some eval on the DBA products before I think too much further about offering them.

I finally got to spend a good chunk of a day on the Focus again today.

We fitted a new LF guard liner (the one on the car was broken), a rear swaybar from a Mazda3 MPS (25mm vs the 21mm bar on the Focus XR5), and did pads and rotors all round as well as fitted HEL braided brake lines to it, flushed the fluid and replaced it with new stuff.

Rotors upfront are DBA T3 4000 series, slotted. In the rear, they're Brembo slotted.
Pads are Project Mu NS400 all round.

It's also now got matching wheels front to rear as well, which is kinda neat. ;)
I'll organise the RWC in the next week or so.

If you're thinking about fitting the big Mazda3 MPS rear swaybar to an FWD P1 car, you'll also need to use the Mazda swaybar links and shackles.

As the front end of the locust is shared with the Volvo... I wonder if the bearing retainer plates are as valid on the locust as they are required on the P1 cars

The bigger rear bar will help with change of direction, particularly with sharp combinations of corners.
It'll be more useful with bigger spring rates. My only concern is that the move from 21mm to 25mm might be too much of a jump, and that something in between might be better.

I've put the original bar aside and will look at it again (maybe) once suspension is done.

The Mazda3 MPS has a lot more nose weight than the Volvo powered cars, so moving to a bigger bar makes them feel a bit more 'sporty' and a bit less lathargic to change direction.

It's progressing. The body is a little rough but about 80% of it will be fine with a really good cut and polish.
The bonnet has a couple of dents, but I'm planning on cutting holes in it anyway, so that can get addressed at the same time.
Front bar is the biggest worry at the moment - I'm hoping to save it, but it is VERY rough.

I'll give the engine bay a wash this week, wash the thing and then have a go at a RWC.
