I haven't had much time to get much done for a little while and breaking my hand has really ruined some plans for making much progress.
I did manage to get a couple of little cosmetic details sorted though.
UK-spec 'ST' guard badges. The horrible XR5 badges will come off the rear doors and hatch and make it look a lot cleaner as well, while these replace the ugly 'Focus' badges that were swapped onto the cars when they made it to Australia.
The paint on the mirrors was horrible, so I had the mirror covers painted gloss black (as per Focus RS) to match with the RS spoiler.
Today, I had a mate give me a useful pair of hands and we worked (he worked and I fumbled with my left hand) through a couple of other odds and ends. We replaced a faulty fuel rail pressure sensor, fitted the new plenum and fitted new GAZ rear perches and springs.
Original plenum removed.
We replaced the fuel rail pressure sensor and cleaned the throttle body before putting it back together.
Engine bay just about complete.
Pumaspeed aluminium plenum looks almost standard.
Still need to replace the coolant res,
@Philia_Bear, but Focus RS airbox swap is complete, vacuum line conversion is complete, symposer removed, Pumaspeed plenum fitted.
And a close-up.
The finish is good, though for those we sell we'll provide replacement throttle body bolts and replacement o-rings.
GAZ adjustable rear spring perch.
It mounts up-top rather than from the lower arm.
Quite a different design to the KW/Heico arrangement.
GAZ adjustable rear spring perch and GAZ 275lbs spring.
Definitely a better match for the GAZ shock too.
A good improvement in ride and handling. We did a spirited drive with it this afternoon (I was the passenger) through a road we use regularly to assess vehicles/changes and were very happy with it.
