I have an aluminium set that was polished i.e the texture of the R finish buffed out and when they did it they dinged it in a couple of places but its intact and i need to see what it owes me before i sell.
Ask John Johnson if he will sell the silver bonnet off the wagon he has.
Shift knob $30-60 eBay , last time i saw 3/4 of em.
Mark @Pom is wrecking an R. Or Berry is...May be silver too.
AshDVS
kool. work it out and let me know.
egads (she/her)
@Spac might still have a silver car hanging around like a bad smell. Maybe the bonnet and gearknob wouldn't be missed? :-P

No good. I'm after leather/suede with the crossed stitching from 1997-2000 P1 V70R

May be able to get beige R seats , are you after black?
AshDVS
I'm chasing black. only need the rear seat and the passenger side front.
@Rob - the centre surround would be fine but I dont think the glovebox surround will work on RHD cars. I'm chasing the shifter surround too.
Ex850R
I do have them Ash , the aluminium bits , i will have to show you as they have a couple of dings but have ben polished and must have been clearcoted as they havent tarnished.
I have the 850 strut assy out for you so we just need to meet !
Rob

Can you fire across a couple of pics of them?
I probably don't need the struts now as I have the v70 here. When the 240 shell is gone ill bring it in and pull the front end out of it.
Ex850R
Will take pics , I thought you were driving the V70?
Is it a good idea to mod the struts for coilover and go as low as possible with the perch to use a longer spring? Spose its up to what springs available too.
Has anyone modded standard dampers for external oil reservoir with pressure control like ohlins do or is that way too hard? I had the chance at ohlins struts off C70 that were factory optioned it seemed. That's where I got my strut brace from. Silly not to take em but one leg was damaged from wheel strike on curb.

The V70 was solely purchased as a testbed and development platform. I've had regular access to an 850R but that was becoming a little inconvenient, so having a car here will speed up some progress on a few things.
I have a DD that doesnt get touched and so does Jae. Mine is nearly due for replacement and Jae's was replaced with a brand new Nissan XTrail in July.
Coilovers for the 850 are actually quite easy, much easier than on a 240 as the strut assembly seperates from the the hub assembly. We've done some one-offs before.
You can simply make up the entire assembly, move the swaybar link pickup around a little and go with a really good insert. LOTS of Koni & Bilstein options and in one of the ones we did our customer supplied their own Sachs inserts and we built around that.
The Ohlins setup is pretty neat - there are better standard type, non remote-reservoir options available now (we've had over a decade of suspension development since they were new), but I like them solely for coolness factor.
My V70 will simply have a H&R spring set and some decent shocks in it - This type of upgrade is what we sell the most of. We can build coilovers to order and the rear arrangement can be a simple adjustable perch.
I'd like to refine an adjustable swaybar link arrangement too. More on that later.
I'll fit the first production caliper adaptors for the 320mm brake conversion and do all the photos for installation guide, website, etc.
After that, we'll get onto a rear brace too.

Yeeharr! Big brakes soon!!
Mmmmm, tell me more about adjusting sway bar links?
Now , rear brace. As Lookforjoe on Volvospeed and TB said. If when you jack up one side of the rear on the eagon and the tailgate opens as it would whilst on the ground , why do you need one?
I see the Asian one on eBay and laugh , charging so much for a bit of RHS with some crap endplates that bolts in the wheel well... Convince me.

The ultra racing ones available are horrible.
I had a good look at one of the tower to tower braces a couple of weeks ago.
While the shell is fairly rigid, observing that you can open the hatch with one side off the ground isn't a great test.
The hatch opening is a fair way back from the rear suspension pickup points in the shell.
Back in the day you could even buy a genuine volvo rear brace - I have never ever seen one in the flesh though.
All of that said, try jacking a VT-VZ commodore up by one of the jacking points on one side just in front of the rear wheel. Then, try opening the front door on the same side. It'll probably not open. If it does, it'll bind up through its range of movement.
Funny stuff.
