Looking at rebuilding my b20b. 69 144s 209000 mile receipts show reconditioned engine fitted in 1986 at 136000 mile. Electronic ignition fitted. Have sourced a b20e head to be ported and reconditioned. Will look for a mild cam and fit headers. Can anybody tell me where I might be able to get intake manifold for the SU carbs

B20E heads had bigger (44mm) valves than early B20B (42mm).
JFYI, CVI lists a 37mm "heavy duty" exhaust valve, while Volvo Competition Service used to offer all of these:

If you can find a K cam, it's mild and it will work quite well on the street (it has more lift than the C cam).
Timing is 27/70/70/27 with 10.8mm lift and a rated duration of 277 degrees.
The R-Sport catalog described the K cam as -
"Original camshaft for B20 GT kit. Made of Wizemann substance. Suitable for moderate output increase [on] standard motors with one or two carburettors. Provides better low speed torque than the standard camshaft on injection engines." (translated from Swedish)
A steel timing gear set is also worth fitting on any B18 /B20 getting a rebuild. Unlike the fibre rubbish, they never fail. Some people say the good gears are noisier - but hey, it's a B20 for cryin' out loud (which it does) and I'm damned if I could ever hear the alleged whine of the good gears in mine over-riding any other noise it normally made.
