Purchased late 2015

and basically standard with lots of little things to fix. This replaces my escort and cortina projects. Drag racing is my background and intend to develop the C70 up. Previous performance car was 2012 F6 - 12.86 @ 110 no mods. My target is get as close to this as I can. Yes, lots of money, research and time! Benchmark run was Wednesday 6th January at Willowbank test @ tune. Didn't expect much as it is not running well under load...got less than expected with 17.3 @ 83 but hey, it is a starting point. Before the next run there will be a full service including plugs, leads, oils, all filters, trans, and the addition of an Ice voltage booster and HP coil. I will go bigger turbo, injectors and engine management after a full rebuilt with H beam rods. Will post results after each upgrade and following 1/4 mile run

Hello and welcome!
Is it a 2.3HPT Motor or 2.4?
IPD do a great coil upgrade.
@AshDVS can help with ECU as can ARD who also do turbo stuff. @Philia_Bear does turbo and other shens too.
Good luck! Much fun to be had.
Love the car!
Les
Time to talk to @Oppolock about ECU and TCU mods for mucho HP upgrades.
That auto in your/my car don't like more than oooooh 210kw?? Maybe more but a 6spd manual from Ford XR5 Focus bolts in.....
There is big thread on Volvospeed on ECU hacking that we can do here or get Lucky Arnold at ARD to build you one , he is very nice guy and great value , USA based.
Kaplhenke in the States does (art pieces that double as) Volvo parts , Ben is an artist/machines and his parts are pure quality and design , I have some strut top mounts that I want to put on the wall framed instead of the V70R. . ........ Rockauto,FCP,PFS,IPD and our local DVS ( @AshDVS ) all do great parts service and price.

Dont go dobbing me in Les lol

15 years ago maybe mate but we found that a 305 LS1 did the job just as well

Come on Grumpy , ye cannae throw out stuff and not be called....
I want one too.......
A canny wee plan I see lol

Thing is im not a code monkey, I HAD code monkeys and they did the real work based on out late night fangs with the G Tech pro up and down Power Ave and Barry Street lol
Yes, will be talking to ash at DVS in the not to distant future. Previous Volvos include 142 (B20 twin carb 4 speed) couple of 240s and a 244DL. My son Dan ( @Raebird ) has a 360 GLT and an S70 and previously a 740 turbo
That 244dl looked great. What weight reduction are you doing to help with the quick? Back seat and sound gear is bloody bulky in these.
Most likely none, I enjoy creature comforts these days!
The ex nino-mike-clinton mobile. Welcome.
Love to see a Volvo at the drags :), best c70 I've seen here has run 13.7 with a good few mods, i've been trying to get into the 12's for years so far cost me a couple of gearbox's and a driveshaft lol I'm at 13.9 now and that's with 360bhp and 556 nm, it's all in the start with these beast's if you can get your 60 foot times down to 2.2 you have a chance good luck I'll be following with interest, I managed to get to a night meet at willowbank last year loved it.
Synthetic oil and new filter done today along with new coolant. Plugs are out, Coil off, leads out, cap and rotor off and air cleaner out. New plugs, leads, coil, cap, rotor, leads, air filter, cabin filter fuel filter and voltage booster on the way. It had better run clean for the next Willowbank visit. Next will be a transmission flush and timing belt, then that bloody dash rattle!
Hi Col,
You can tune these ECUs yourself. Have a look at http://m44.wikia.com/wiki/M44_Wiki
Even if you don't actually tune the ECU, it enables heaps of datalogging, which is great if you are trying to track down a problem. This is what the screen looks like:

You can see long and short term fuel trims (which can be a good indicator of vacuum leaks), MAF data (good to make sure your MAF isnt maxxing out or playing up), injector duty cycle (make sure your injectors arent maxxing out), and engine detected knock (the column on the right - good to monitor to prevent damage when tuning).
Also, if you get a wideband, it is easy to adjust your fueling.
Good luck with the build, these cars are great to play with!

Since sorting out all the maintenance items and returning it to "stage 0" the C70 has run a PB of 15.4? If I recall correctly.
