  • [sold] 1993 Volvo 440 Turbo $2500

Hi All.
I'm posting this here on behalf of a friend (Vehicle located in Albury NSW but I could drive it to Melbourne).

This is basically a miniature 850R sedan with one less cylinder.
My mate bought it a few years ago off Mark to use as a daily driver and used it as such for roughly 18 months. During this time he did a few tasteless and ricer mods to it (all reversible); pod filter, 2.5" exhaust, 17" XXR wheels, BOV etc. And then some tasteful mods like a new radiator (from the UK at great expense) and abit of rust repair. He then bought a Citroen and that has superseded the 440 for daily duties.

I have driven it a bit. It is a fun little car and is pretty nimble in the twisty bits.
It runs well, drives well and is definitely not slow. Also feels pretty well planted at higher speed.

Majority of people in the UK who are looking to upgrade their 2.0 440s will swap in this 1.7T engine as it is stout and would probably love a few more psi. Having driven the 2.0 NA 440s it has abit less torque at low rpms but really comes into song after 2000rpm.

5sp Manual
196,000 ODO
Runs a tad rich (bbbbwwwwaaaahhhhhh...chooochooochoo...GGGGNnnnnnnnnnn....pop pop pop)

Would be nice to see it go to another Volvo person as it is one of the only ones around...surely somebody here needs a fun commuter or a hatchback?

Does it come with rego? And what's the go with transferring it to vic reg? How does it work?
Hey @CamT
It does not come with rego for $2500 but Vic reg could be organised at extra cost! PM me if you are still interested :)
Can't transfer reg interstate. Need to cancel rego in nsw and get a RWC in Vic before a rego. Can drive it back on a nsw unregistered permit or keep plates on and unregister it down here once RWC is completed
Albury has magical Wodonga powers so could be slipped and rego in Vic land if I am not mistaken
Yeah @egads is correct. In this situation because the vehicle is currently unregistered it will just be a case of getting a Vic RWC in wodonga and registering it.

@JamesM if you keep your current NSW rego you do not have to get a RWC in Victoria, you just have to buy Victorian rego before you cancel your NSW rego. I did this with my wagon because VIC reg is cheaper and doesn't require yearly inspections!
@Sam Well there you go, learn something new everyday :)
