Somehow I only just came across this forum, feels like I've been missing out!
Anyhow, here is my car, a 2001 S60 T5. I purchased it in early 2012 from a young bloke in Southport after selling my 1991 740 (photo below). I bought the car as it is a bit different (being 5 speed manual) and is perfect for my work commutes between Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
Not much to really say, other than at this stage my only plans are to keep it serviced and maintained. If I had the cash I'd get a full respray done, but that is wishful thinking! Major services done by Peer and Steve (GLT Car Centre, Capalaba) who always do a fantastic job, but where possible I find great levels of satisfaction in doing things myself.
More recently the following have been done:
- iMiv Classic including rear camera;
- Brodit iPhone mount and clip;
- Tinted windows;
- Resprayed wheels;
- Lots of mechanical things i.e. timing and serpentine belts, PCV, replacement of various hoses, clips, suspension bits etc. etc.
Things to sort out in the future:
- Fuel gauge doesn't read below 1/4 (assuming it's the fuel level sender);
- Respray front driver side guard and side mirrors;
- Air con cuts out on really hot days (have read about bread clip / zip tie fixes etc...);
- Slight rattling sound in the rear over bumps;
- Anything else as and when.
Otherwise at 15 years of age, it's an awesome car.
