Just a question my 1982 244 has original fluid from new auto fluid still smells a bit sweet and definitely not burnt and gearbox changes well but I was told by Volvo mechanic to leave it or by changing could cause slip I have a picture of the fluid what your thought this pic is cold fluid not warm

It isn't physically possible for new trans oil to cause slip, make sure you change the filter too. They use dx3, oil ages so it should be changed by kms and time.

Oil is the same on any type of drive device. Same as diff oil. You change it by time if not kms.
