Timing belt kit XC90

Hi everybody, a new member, I have a 2006 XC90 and going to replace the timing belt with water pump etc.
I've got a quote in Australia for after market kit with water pump around $690 but I can get the original stuff from USA with shipping around $600.
My question is, is there any difference from US version parts and European version?
It seems the seller is a bit confused and I don't want to buy them if they won't fit in my car.

whoa hold your horses a genuine timing belt kit from my local dealer for a 5 cyl is approx $420 then just use an aftermarket pump $65? Whats the details of your vehicle? 5cyl/6cyl/8cyl petrol/diesel? I only use genuine timing belt kits as i have seen plenty of destroyed engines from aftermarket belts/ tensioners

It is 2.5T AWD, 5 cyl petrol.
Can you please let me know where is your supplier? I am in Brisbane and originally wanted to get a genuine timing belt kit and an AISIN water pump off Ebay but they keep saying some US version won't fit Euro version.

Speak to Mark @ Berry Motor Group. He can supply everything you need 03 9874 5544. The water pumps are the same from 850 to V50 so i can't see any issues as long as it suits a 5cyl. I think the diesel and 6cyl were slightly different? I use the AISIN pumps all the time and have never had issues.

You are also best off doing the PCV kit at the same time
FCP stopped carrying Uro so they only have the expensive kit

Rockauto.com still carries URO so they are your best bet for a PCV kit

Hi Philia,

I've been in contact with FCP for past 2 weeks or so but James says that these are US version and he can't supply the parts for my car. The only part he could confirm was AISIN water pump.
How can I confirm these are the right parts ?

Same engine, some of the newer FCP staff are worthless, they have gone down in quality a lot lately as they have expanded, very few people left at the company with serious Volvo knowledge, just monkeys looking at a screen.

Because your Vin is not an American VIN the FCP systems wont decode it and because there was a break in late 2006 (volvo usa stopped offering the T5 in the xc90) FCP does not have the data they would otherwise want to have

This is my first Volvo after 20 years, I had a 244 ages ago and after that mostly had BMWs.
I bought this car couple of months ago from a car yard and unfortunately got really over excited and trusted the dealer and car turned out with couple of major problems such as oil leak from tail shaft,axle and diff main seal,also I noticed that timing belt has never been replaced,so I am trying to cut the cost as much as I can.
Engine runs very smoothly and no error code, I will do that glove test to see if PCV is good or not, hopefully I don't have to replace that part any soon.
I called Berry Motors as Tim suggested and they are going to send me the quote tomorrow if it wasn't cheap than FCP, I will try FCP.

Hi guys,

I get all my XC90 parts from eeuroparts.com from the U.S. and no issues. In fact I'd just placed an order for the timing belt kit, water pump kits, serpentine belts and other consumables and total cost including courier(FedEx) is AUD474.00 to Sydney.
