So I got a second hand pump from Berrys and fitted all good.
Went driving on the HWY and had a hose failure. Repaired the hose good enough to hold fluid. Used what I had with fluid around half a resivour till I limped to service station. Topped up fluid and continued my journey. Now the steering is not good on lock both ways. Do I need to replace the pump again or have I damaged the steering rack ?

what do you mean by "not good"
ive noticed when ive moved my car with out it running the PS can have a flat spot (kinda like a notch) for a day. this is air in the system i believe and it will bleed out.

I hope so Jay. I've talked to few people they seem to think it can only be the pump. Is there a way to bleed ?

Front wheels off the ground
Car idling
Top up fluid
Run steering wheel full left to right to left 10 times as fast as you can
This should bleed most air from the system

Thanks Philia that helped a lot. Feels normal again

easy fix.
as @Philia_Bear mentioned is the standard way to bleed the system. as using the pump will push the air through the system into the reservoir. glad it worked.
