I have had this project on the go for the last 18 months or so, but unfortunately I am likely to be relocating back to the UK sometime next year. So either I sell this now or cargo it back to my garage in the UK which I would rather not do, but will if I have to..and continue on there.
Its been totally rebuilt with mainly new parts- larger 36 and 34mm valves, double springs, Nuke cam gears, Cometic gasket, ARP Head bolts, B230 oil squirter block, 158mm RSI H beam rods, ARP rod bolts, RSI turbo pistons, 80mm stroke nitrided crank ..all balanced..much of the work done by Crankshaft Rebuilders in Blackburn, Melbourne..
Was intending on linking up to turbo, T5, Megasquirt/Haltech etc, etc
Lots of work-too much to mention here- and money... I have receipts for just shy of $10K.
I can send document and photos outlining the full spec etc. for those who are seriously interested and for those folk to pop round for a look " in the flesh"
I am open to reasonable offers of courseā¦.but please read the spec sheet first.
Ash has a photo up on his DVS page I think..

Has motor been started/ran in and tuned? Would be interested in this for my 84 240. You mentioned a t5 so is this a manual block? Could it be mated to the stock auto? Happy to continue talks through PM if easier. Cheers Dan

Dan. To put this motor on a stock auto would blow the auto up pretty quick once the exhaust manifold is made and a turbo is selected and an intake manifold id made and the thing is tuned.
A stock auto from a turbo, rebuilt with heavy dutu clutches and using a high stall would handle up to 300hp, this motor with the right manifolds that it deserves thanks to the bigger valves and lower c.R of the pistons, will make 4-500hp at the rears. If you wanted to run auto you would need to adapt to a stronger auto.

I had planned on a " world class "T5 manual box..with all the other upgrades that would be needed to bring out the full potential power. Motor has not been started..hadnt got that far yet.

Thanks Vee Que, wasn't sure how much HP the motor was putting out but that's pretty impressive! My motor is needing a rebuild so was thinking this could be a better alternative but I wouldn't be going down the turbo road. Will have to do some research and talk to the Volvo guys over here and see what can be done

@Goofy87 put the feelers out here. there is ample knowledge on these pages to achieve what you desire. maybe start a thread regarding it. and continue it with an eventual build thread.
