Do them a favour and book directly with them rather than via the booking.com etc mobs. Friends who still work in the accommodation sector say that they are more likely to offer an upgrade for the direct bookings
They take so much of a clip that's it's obscene - when I worked in accommodation it was 25% + that they took as a commission, and they pretty much decided what that was.
