I have been underwhelmed by the power of this car for quite some time, It is ok but just doesn't seem to have the pull it should. I went for a drive in
@Jackson 's 850 and was impressed with the way it went. I figured a custom tune was in order to get the most out of it so I have purchased and set up all the bits and bobs to get that underway.
Big thanks to
@clinton for the advice and his 4.4 tuning thread

I have sourced and modified a suitable ECU, have all the software and can successfully flash tunes. All that is required now is the time to get the tune right.
some pics of the ecu mod.
Anyway, fast forward a couple of weeks. I made my way down to Melbourne for the GRM open day, Friday night hangs on the previous evening was at John Johnsons Shed. Mark Richardson had some Carbonfibre throttle spool covers for sale. I figured this would look nice in my engine bay so purchased one from him.
He had warned me that they were the first batch so not necessarily a perfect fit out of the box. it required a small trim in the bottom corner where it fouled on the vacuum T, apart from that it fitted fine.
HOWEVER..... after removing the plastic cover I noticed this.
I am surprised it was running at all.
I replaced the hose, fitted up my new carbon cover and took it for a drive.... WOW!!!
I am now convinced that this happened at about the time I did the last lot of mods, i.e 19T, r manifold, na cams, head porting. This was before I drove it down to Berry for the National Meet in September.
@Raebird can attest that despite being ok, it just wasn't quite right the whole way, we even tried adjusting cam timing a couple of times along the way.. I had figured I had changed more than the ARD tune could handle. It appears I was wrong.
I still intend tuning it properly but the pressure is certainly off.
I also fitted up the updated firewall mount from an RN car.
