Been lurking around for a while so I thought I'd make a quick thread.
The V70R projects follows on from the old XC70 R Terrangkorning Landvagn which concluded 3 years ago.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Car
2004 Volvo V70R GT

Installed mods:

MTE R stage 2.5 tune. 385hp @ 6000 rpm.

Snabb Turbo intake pipe

EVOLVE Air Management System

TME stainless downpipe and full exhaust

600 x 300 x 76mm FrontMount Intercooler install.
Heat soak in these cars is huge. IAT temperatures would rise from 35c to 80c in 5 seconds of boost.
New intercooler (from Supra) keeps IAT temperatures to a constant 35c :) (relative to summer ambient temps)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Interior

Volvotech Canbus Function extender.

IPD GROM USB Iphone interface

LED interior lights
2005 Centre console.

Seems as it came factory with a 9 speaker 300w Dynaudio system, it needed a touch up.
Time to install some Dynamat

before:

after:

Dynamt Extreme in the boot. A must for Volvo wagons:

Including the fibreglass tailgate:

Fire extinguisher install. A must for trackwork:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Exterior

I thought I'd get myself a set of 2006 VR Jewel tail lights:

New 35w 5000k HID fog lights at night against a slanted driveway.

Philips DRL installed:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Time to strap the R down and go to the moon.

Random Martian wildlife (otherwise known as Emus)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On the track

Time to see how fast she goes..
Was a good night apart from a left rear puncture and a random check engine fault code came on after the second run. With thanks to a local Swede, it was diagnosed and cleared.
Was also the first time I've put it into race mode.

Pretty consistant night with the times.
4th run 13.682 @ 100.11 mph. - 1.94 60'

Having some fun at Antilag Racewars.

1000m @208.5km/hr

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

While I had zero spare time I thought I'd buy the android app Torque and install it on to my 10.1" tablet.
As I have a Bluetooth obd2 elm327 dongle, I thought I'd give it a go.

Turns out I can do real time data logging, check signals and check/clear diagnostic codes.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

More maintenance:
A pair of Monroe C2501 front shocks
A pair of xc90 HD strut seats
And I found a cool front grille locally

Next purchase was a set of wheel spacers with extended lug nuts.

10mm for the front | 15mm for the rear.

* more to report soon :)
Very nice! Lots of expense there just in dynamat! Not interested in the alternatives?

Wot he said :-c
Like those Phillips DRL's , have to add them to my list .
9 days later
Installed these IPD-USA adjustable rear toe arms + new rear poly bushes.
Now the rear toe is closer to 0 and side-hop is gone.

Are those urethane exhaust hangers????
AshDVS;60611 wroteAre those urethane exhaust hangers????
Thats an IPD-USA pic. I used their pic as its considerably better than what I could do to show the part :)

Gotcha. I was wondering about the sanity of anyone who thinks that urethane is to be used absolutely everywhere including exhaust hangers. ;)
It often appears that pretty blue trumps logic. I gotta say this is the first FWD that has caught my eye.

Its AWD dude.
Sorry, to be clear I should have said "not rwd with the engine facing the wrong way and most of the torque through the front wheels most of the time".... In any case, it's the only Volvo I've seen made after the 7/9 series that has caught my eye and made me think twice about owning one.
