Good to hear they are taking liability. Im not sure, I think the sensors on these cars are hopelessly slow. My 850 had next to no oil in it and it took over half an hour for the light to come on and by that stage it was too little, too late.

Yeah im not sure why it seized but i just want the car back on the road as ive got a buyer for it so i can finally pick up my new volvo :D

All the dealer said is "the bottom end is seized we are now going through insurance to fix it end of story" when i asked what caused it then? they are still saying the oil filter was tight and dont know why it seized.... oh well its getting fixed anyway

My understanding is that when the ligh comes on, it's already too late :/ it's low oil pressure, not a low oil level indicator. Some engines are more resilient than others.
Glad to hear they are coming to the party.
If worst comes to worst you could go to consumer affairs

You will need it in writing that the engine gets a rebuild however. As they may whack a used motor in.

Nice toy!
I wasn't going to ask on 4x4Earth as I didn't think they'd be as appreciative of Volvo talk...

Yeah i was looking at the s60 but prefered the estate look of the v60 and volvo have a good finance package so i thought why not, i went back in today to sign some paper work and fell in love with the new xc90 looks
