Hi guys, first time poster.
Looking to buy my first Volvo as a daily to and from uni. Big fan of wagons and found a V50 and V70R as the title suggests. They're both right around 10k, and the V50 auto (no sunroof) has 150k while the V70R manual (private sale) has 300k. I'd ideally want to spend less than 12-13k to get it going, but can definitely afford consistent maintenance if it's not ridiculous.
First of all, I'm well aware the cost of maintenance for auxiliary things in the V70R will be higher, however would it still be manageable and reliable? The V50 would also have some cheaper parts sharing a platform with the XR5, so how much more dumb would it be to buy the V70R instead?
I just can't get over the looks of the V70R lol, I've also heard the 2.3T is stronger than the newer 2.4T in later V70R's, but I haven't got any experience with them. I'm also keen to get my hands dirty so expensive labour isn't really a consideration for me, moreso the cost of parts.
Thanks.
