Hi all, new to this forum, but need some help. Over last 7-8 months my 2012 Volvo V50 T5 Petrol (done 85,000km) has had "Reduced Engine Performance" light come on and off. When on, engine doesnt accelerate too well and I can only get up to 80km p/h. I have had the Mass Air Flow sensor replaced. Light went off for a few weeks then came back on. Took to a mechanic who ran a diagnostic tool on it and said throttle body needed a clean. Light went off for a few weeks, then came on again. Then we replaced the whole throttle body and the mechanic cleaned and checked wiring. Light went off for a month or two, then came on again. Took it to another mechanic. He ran a smoke test - no issue. No "whistling" at high revs, so dont think it is a turbo issue (and no dark smoke from exhaust). Another mechanic said the accelerator pedal and associated pins and embedded pad or sensor needed to be replaced. We did that, but the reduced engine performance light stayed on and car still not working as it should.
If anyone has any ideas as to what else it could be could you please let me know ... as money is going down the drain and this is getting very frustrating and annoying. Thank you
