The current unit is badly damaged where the centre armrest clips down. Does the unit need to be replaced or can the woodgrain be salvaged and a replacement and fitted to a donor centre console from standard 850. Car is manual. - Does anyone have one ?
Gear Shifter- Pretty hard to find ! but I am asking.
Also if anyone has a original gear knob for the 850 T5R they may have seen up for sale. There is an Ebay seller in the US that can make a Shifter but i would need to provide dimensions to fit - When removing the current shifter there is a retaining clip on the bottom which locks the complete in place - any thoughts if this would be possible to fashion the bottom clip on a handmade shifter.
Trusty 850 Glove Box is jammed shut is there a way besides brute force to release this ( does not work). I am assuming the internal mechanism has failed. Any advice on the correct way of getting it open or how to fix it would be helpful.
Boot slams shut easily.
Does anyone know if there are struts on the boot lid or a suggested suitable supplier.
O2 Sensors.- no Boost.
The car is running pretty rich. I have replaced MAF - Throttle body and checked for leaks in the Intake and replaced turbo box and Vacuum lines. The car had a IPD Boost controller fitted by previous owner and it not too happy after this - failed to run and continually stalled. Once I replaced the above items and removed the IPD unit it nolonger stalls but running rich and no turbo boost. Should I replace the O2 Sensors and would those on a 850 t5 be suitable - which could be available at the local pick a part.- are they easily installed.
The Lamba Sensor light does come so I am not sure if this is being caused by the O2 Sensors.
I am based in bayside Melbourne and the T5R has a dark walnut interior.

You can buy the wood trim kits , I think Berry Motor Group has one in the shop , eBay too.
There is a T5 shifter on eBay too I think .
You shouldn't have to replace the turbo box , assuming that is the airbox you mean , nothing goes wrong with them.
There should be a boost controller on the back of the airbox , you need to connect the vacuum lines to it correctly, the ipd part would have changed only the boost dump , they work well if not wound up too much.
Don't bother with second hand o2 sensors , get Bosch off eBay , the s/h ones will nearly be toast anyway.
The boot struts,get em degassed or measure em and go eBay.
Glovebox , take off lower panel under it and you can get to hinge torx screws. Not sure if you can then get to latch from inside , worth a try , you wreck the door if you force it....I have one here if you do with a key in the same colour I think.
What MAF did you put in? New? How do you know its not fuvked if it was a used one.........$50 eBay one worked for me but I didn't trust it to last.
Check all the VAC lines again with carb cleaner sprayed around , if the revs rise u got leak.
Look at Mathews Volvo site for info on VAC line routimg to the VAC tree and the standard boost controller on the aorbox.
You could use an AFR meter that has a Bosch o2 on it with a lug to patch into the old wire as well , eBay , greddy or whatever not too dear.
Can get poly bushes for top engine mount and many other mounts. Strut tops rattle means new rubbers , get the xc90 ones , they are stronger. Don't bother with ipd stuff , go FCP Groton's in USa , don't buy the cheap bushes, droplinks, or steering bits as they don't last. MOOG stuff is ace , eBay for that or off their website.
The odometer , don't reset it while driving , the gears chew out , easy fix but annoying.
Many dash rattles mean a dash pull out and aluminium sheet used to fix broken plastic , there are write ups on all this on Mathews site , Volvospeed , Turbobricks has some too
The lambda light may need reset after installing o2s , it also indicates bad MAF as well.
Get OBD scan, reset tool from China , $40 delivered.
If you want more power just use the ipd boost screw or look up ARD Ideas , Lucky Arnold does cheap ECU tweaks that work real well!
If you know how to do some coding look at the Volvospeed thread on doing the ECU tune yourself!
A 3" exhaust with GOOD mufflers to stop drone will be good for power and a nice note.

Thanks les. Car is at the doctor giving it an assessment. Pics are coming. Thanks for the details. The list of to do is long.! I will focus on the essential items to get the car on the road and the cosmetics will follow. MAF was from service guy same code.
Question if the windscreen is out is it easier to replace the dash - need one for rwc plus the top strip. Just thinking aloud.
It's a 95 no obd correct ? Just flashing light.
I will watch the forums for centre console in time ! They do come up in uk sometimes it's all timing.
Checked with berry motor no go on the interior.
I haven't seen T5R engine bay to know about the obd but John at Voldat in Moorabin has one , take it to his shop , Mark there is the later model volvo guy and its a great workshop , loan cars too. Check Google for the obd thing or I spose look for the socket under the coin tray in console!
