wheel size suggestions

What's the biggest offset/width I can run on a 16-inch wheel on my 245? going for custom 3-piece wheels so I can adjust pretty easily, I just wanna know what people have run and could run. Any input is good input.

Is the vehicle going to be lowered?

Is the bodywork allowed to be altered?

Anything wider than eight inches with close to standard offset (20mm) will need consideration towards widening of the wheel arches.

Have you measured the available space at the moment?

What offset are your wheels available in?

I've seen 16x8 with unmodified guards, I'm pretty sure you could run 9 inch rims but you'd definitely need to roll the guards at that point.

You may also need to solve front and rear differently in terms of offset and guard clearance as the rear track is like 20-30mm narrower than the front track.

IIRC the rear track is 20mm narrower, not sure if that's per side or total.

Could be fixed with spacers, but that does open a legal can of worms.

Is all your suspension stock? Tyre size will play a big part too.

Cars getting lowered on custom extra low coil-overs with full adjustment and camber plates, tyres will be pretty thin and I’ll be running 16’s. The flares seem pretty well rounded but I could roll them more but shouldn’t have too with the camber plates allowing some better fitment.

16 x 7 is plenty for a 2 series unless your going racing.

Be carefull not to " over" tyre the car, as in weight on each corner versus contact patch size.

This can lead to unexpected lack of traction in wet weather , as the tyre will start to float on the water when driving through large puddles
