No it doesn't change the diff set-up….. but l, if there is crud on the spline or the torque is not done up again high enough, then it might cause it to go noisy. Feel or measure the backlash before removing the flange and aim for the same feel when you reassemble it. The settings for the pinion are achieved by shims behind the inner bearing pressed onto the pinion. If you end up changing any of the bearings you may need to set up the diff again….but this is not actually such a terrible job.
