Hi Chris.

I don't normally butt in or criticise 'for sale' ads but I genuinely think you need to either reconsider your price or your desire to sell this car.

I am sure it is very nice but in all honesty this car is not worth anywhere near what you are asking.

With the very low km's it is perhaps worth half of your asking price provided it has perfect service history and is in perfect condition. These later model P2 XC's are readily available in the 5k to 9k range.

The general history of bad AWD + BAD Trans hurts the resale value on these cars tremendously
Its not to say that your car has either issue, or might ever... but when over 50% of the fleet has the issues it drags everyone else down into the pit

The car looks exceptional, but your asking what I paid for a newer 07 XC90D5 with near enough same KM...

I'll chime in.
As a comparative we bought mum's XC70 2006 LE model, dark blue with beige interior and pretty much every option bolted to it. 69,000 kays at the time and it was $12,990. This was last year. It was in NSW and we had it freighted down to Victoria, roadworthied, re-registered and a major service including timing belt done at a Volvo specialist. Mum also fitted a tow-bar to it and brake controller to it. Have had the trans oil flushed out and its just about to get the PCV done I think, and we still haven't paid anywhere near 19 grand for it. And even we admit we overpaid for it, but it was mums dream car and she wasn't going to miss it.

I dont/wont sell them cos they are crap, I get offered these cars weekly from $1000 -9000, The only way to get this money, is get a tow bar and boat and down the ramp, so the insurance pays out :-q

It think it is important we avoid criticising the seller, I dare say he put a lot of money into this car when he purchased it. It really is disappointing they are worth so little but unfortunately that is the way it is.

P3 XC's (which are approx 1 million times better) are now frequently available sub 20k
