But I think with the current high price of shipping and high prices generally, it has reached a point where it's better value to just get a custom exhaust made. I like 2.25" with a 200 cell cat, a resonator in place of the mid muffler, and a straight thru rear muffler. If you want to quiet it more you might run a glass pack. Get the shop to replace your exhaust mounts with something more modern. I forget what my guy uses, I think it's from a modern VW.
So, short answer, in my opinion, have one custom made. Stainless if you can as it will last forever. It will cost somewhere north of $1k at a good shop but I have seen 240s with $600 stainless exhausts and while they aren't pretty they do seem to work.
Edit: also, it will wake the car up noticeably, the factory exhaust is quite restrictive.
