How many filters, etc, are in the actual K-Jet system itself? Like, beyond the fuel filter on the firewall?
What happened:
The car (Reddington) had a very dead main fuel pump, and that was replaced, along with the accumulator.
The filter up front on the firewall was also replaced.
However, the car ran for a little while with a lot of crud in the tank, which I fear has damaged the replacement main pump, which may not be delivering adequate pressure to the bits up front. I'm also concerned that some of the crud has made its way past the new fuel filter and into the guts of the K-Jet system proper.
Before I go ahead and replace the (now suspect) replacement main pump, are there any screen-type filters in the fuel distributor, etc, which may have possibly gotten clogged with crud?
The engine does deliver a satisfactory kick and tries to run briefly when Start Ya Bastard is sprayed into the plenum chamber, which suggests it does have spark, but a lack of adequate fuel pressure for injection.
Help.
