Ive figured out a way to re-purpose the Volvo "smart" switches for other things, using a LM393 module. Another way is to use a mechanical switch, ive got 20 of these Alps SPEF120100 switches and a few custom made pcbs if anyone is interested. they are not momentary as i thought but on/on as they flip/flop between two circuits, also they are as close to the original sound and feel, they do not click.
