Reverse camera equaliser for a 2011 V60

Hello folks,

I’m lucky enough to own a 2011 T6 Re-Design V60.

As you may know, in warm weather, the reverse camera either flickers or gets the ‘blue screen of death’. I’ve found that this can be cured with an equaliser.

With the warmer weather on its way, I’d like to sort this out. Does anyone have an equaliser I could buy or does any one know where I can get an aftermarket one? I know, I know… I’ve tried Google, eBay etc, but other than OEMs at Volvo pricing, I’ve been unable to find anything.

This is a common issue with the xc60 , s60, v60 if the car is parked facing the sun .
The cameras get to hot and expand enough to go fuzzy , the screen turns blue to the camera cools down and it all starts working normal again

Yes…

I was at a dealer for something else and mentioned the rear camera issue and they appeared to know about it.

I’m after an equaliser but not necessarily from Volvo as I’ll need to take out a small mortgage for an OEM one.

I’ve seen in other o/s forums that a Range Rover (I think, or maybe Land Rover… is there a difference ??) equaliser works, but I can’t remember the post I saw this information on! I think I tried looking for it too but they are proving elusive.

Surely someone in China has knocked one up… have they?

Hello folks.

For the benefit of those with modern-ish S/V60s and perhaps other models, the reverse camera equaliser is installed under the front passenger seat.

I mention this, as there is a YouTube video showing how to fit the equaliser (admittedly on an XC60) which shows the camera module and plugs, behind a panel in the rear boot area.

In answering my own question above, there doesn’t appear to be ‘…someone in China…’ who has knocked one up. I purchased a Volvo equaliser through Heico Sportiv in Melbourne. Excellent service. Fast postage.
