I just picked up my C30 today after a timing belt/water pump change on my 48,000km C30 T5. Although in abvioisly pristine condition, my "mechanical anxiety" was high. 3 years overdue for a vital wearing part 😬. I'd normally do all my maintenance work, but with a lack of time, I purchased the genuine parts from Volvo and have them to a local shop. For interest, I thought Ill post some pictures to show the condition of a 13 year old belt, pulleys and water pump. I think they look very good actually and found myself wondering if it was worth all that money….. probably 😅
The bearings on the idler, tensioner and water pump feels tight and smooth. I found the "snake skin" or scale like underside of the timing belt strange but must be ok.
