Do manual gearboxes really need a cooler? I thought it was needed for a loaded-up auto due to all the slushing-about and general “not locking”, but none of the stuff bathed in oil within a manual ‘box has that slippage & hence nowhere near as much heat generated … ? I guess this is very much a generalisation, there could be specifics of some gearboxes which benefit from a cooler?
