[Wanted] 95 940 Maf - 0280212016

After a Maf with the part number 0280212016 for my 95 940 turbo. Currently having idle issues and the ebay maf its running doesn't seem to be working too well, hoping a known working Bosch unit will clear things up.

It might not be that which is causing your problem.

You don’t want to waste your money on something unless you are 100% certain that it contributes to the cause of your issue

I’ve ruled out most other things that I can think of, motor was refreshed and the following was replaced:

spark plugs / leads
Distributor cap / rotor
All vac lines inspected / replaced and smoke tested
IAC valve
Throttle body cleaned
Pcv system entirely replaced

I have also adjusted the tps, base idle set with the IAC hose clamped. Won’t hold a steady idle and will fluctuate between 500-900 rpm, stalls if you let off the throttle too fast. Idles smoother with the maf unplugged. It’s had me stumped the last few weeks.

Sounds like you have found your problem.

The usual suspects in Vic are the easy bet for a replacement MAF. Berry's and Masons. They will both post to you.

You have addressed everything I replace on a car that has been neglected

BUT

The problem could be related to the work carried out above, as that is where the engine was worked on last and it’s possible something isn’t right, I would recheck everything to confirm

What’s the vacuum reading?

Cylinder compression test done?

Valve clearance checked?

Vac reads around -20psi at idle, comp was checked - 125 across all 4 dry and all my valve clearances were adjusted to .35mm when I had the head off. The car ran poor this prior to all the work and runs much better now then what it did prior but the idle issue still persists.

Just following up on this, ended up picking up the maf from that 740 for a good price and it resolved all my idle issues. Thanks for the help
