Car won't start, but may start in next 1 hour or two.

Battery still healthy but when I turn the key. I can hear double click, not continuous click. Could it be bad solenoid on starter motor? I can still hear fuel pump when turn ignition.

Sounds solenoidy, for an old skool car at least … what are we talking though, something from sorta/circa 2010 onwards it could still be the battery even though you don’t have other symptoms (yet).

Old days we would do a 'love tap' with a hammer to the Starter or Solenoid, whatever was easy. This usually works if it is a stuck solenoid.

I had a faulty brand new fuel pump last year, but it made no noise, but also did spring into action when banged with a hammer on the bottom of the fuel tank. Vibrations jiggle the brushes, or whatever, loose. Got a Bosch fuel pump problem solved.

Bypass the starter solenoid by directly connecting it to the main positive connector on the starter.

I purchased a new battery with $70 off at Autobarn. I came back to start the car again and it struggled really bad.

Turns out it was a sh*ty RACV battery. So I replaced the battery and car starts fantastic!
