Oz Volvo has finally entered the 2010s, and you can now choose to be notified by push notification! This feature is currently opt-in, although at a future date it will be enabled by default (don't worry, even when enabled by default, it still needs your permission to use push notifications).
This brings Oz Volvo into line with most other messaging platforms and creates a more modern experience, particularly for mobile users.
But I love e-mail!
Don't worry! It's not going anywhere. You have (and will always have) full control over how you get notified.
You can enable push notifications on your desktop or your phone. I've set the limit to 3 devices total for each user. This limit is temporary while the system goes through a "bedding in" process (i.e. let's see how hard it hammers Oz Volvo's servers).

Enabling push notifications
Note for iPhone users: if you see a red error box on your settings page stating that your browser settings do not allow notifications, you can add the app to your homescreen to configure notifications. See the next section for instructions.
- Go to your profile settings via your user icon, or just hit ozvolvo.org/settings.
- You will see in the notifications table, there is a new column, "Push".
- Tick all the push notifications you want
- Underneath the table, you will find a button to enable push notifications. When you press this, your browser will prompt you to allow notifications.

If you get a red warning box "You must adjust your browser settings to receive push notifications" - that probably means you have your browser setup to block all push notifications. You'll have to disable that for Oz Volvo (I can't help you with this, it depends on your browser)
Add Oz Volvo to your app drawer/home screen
- open ozvolvo.org in your device browser
- From your browser menu, select "add to home screen" (the wording on your device may be slightly different).
- (if on an iPhone and wanting to enable push notifications) launch Oz Volvo from your home screen, and go to your user settings page.

Feedback
This is a slightly complicated feature in terms of what the server has to deal with. If you run into any sort of unexpected behaviour, please let me know by posting in this thread.
