Well, this alt is from other car(sedan) and it used to do the lights thing everytime but lately it only did it occassionaly.
Now I have that Alt in the wagon .
The same thing just now when I started the wagon. Lights stay on, light tap of accelerator and they disappear.
Put the m/meter on the Alt, when the lights stay on the small red wire(is that the exciter wire?) on the Alt measures 11. or so volts. After taping throttle the volts fo up to 14...with no dash lights and no errors.
Drove around the block seemed fine.
But why is there the need to tap throttle to get charging? Or is it to excite the exciter wire.?
