Hi eggheads. I'm looking to find a windshield rubber seal for my 1994 940. It's becoming increasingly apparent that these parts are unobtanium without spending ridiculous amounts of money. I've accepted that I might have to go aftermarket, but I'd like to be able to buy as similar of a replacement part as I can. I've seen some sites that sell windshield rubber per metre (Rubber Online) but I'm not too sure what classification I'd need, or if any are even compatible. What is the type that's used on 740/940 windshield seals? Alternatively, if any of you can find an OEM replacement for less than the price of one of my kidney's then I'd be grateful.

Cheers

Unsure how you intend to install the windscreen, but (decent?) windscreen installers appear to have about a zillionty different profiles of trim & seals on rolls, by-the-metre.

Forg Ah okay sweet. I was going to go through Shannon's as there's a crack in my windshield right now anyway, and the seal is definitely bodgy from one of the previous owners. Figured I'd do it all in one go if possible

What sort of price are you being quoted for a screen replacement?

I've just gotten a quote from GLT in Brisbane to replace a 1997 S90 screen for $350, which seems fair to me. (Yeah, the 940 screen is different, but IIRC $300 -350 is the ballpark from when I got a screen replaced in the '93 945 NA aka The Beever a few years ago).

Major Ledfoot Through Shannon's you're entitled to one free windshield replacement a year. I think they have a contract with O'Brien's iirc. So the cost for replacing the windshield isn't my worry. To be frank though, I don't know if they'll charge me for the cost of replacing the seal. Either way, it shouldn't be too much
