Lack of Volans could be of Volvo Service solution.
At the time some customers didn't like the ride or damaged the wheels to often so a service solution was to offer 16" wheels but these look like X70 16" though....

I think they are still available from Volvo if you are prepared to pay the price. volvopartswebstore.com have the for 382USD per wheel. Website say shipping is 110USD to Queensland.

My 850r was missing the Volans. It had a complete service history. I have heard that reason before also that volans cost heaps as a spare and it was cheaper to replace the lot.
I got a set from the UK and shipped them via sea freight for about $130
$4000 would be a good buy and allow a $1000 for the wheels.

From the factory I think so
Typically for the customers that were unhappy with the harshness/firmness of the ride, they were replaced with Columbas. The car in the pic is fitted with Perfos.
Regardless, it still looks like a good car.

When I was looking for my old 855R the ones I saw in person all had 5 Volans which was a bonus.
